what’s your lucky number?

In the third grade I was in contention for top prize in an essay contest,
the decision was set to be made by a lucky pick of numbers. 

The prize in question?
A $100 scholarship (huge, I know) and the chance to read your work in front of the whole elementary school.

I learned two things from that fateful contest: 

One, I kind of like writing. 
Two, my lucky number is three. 

Since then I've continued on my writer’s path, stringing words along that people seem to like. 
And yes, if anything comes down to choosing a number, I stick with my lucky three.
